Wondering what a Health Coach is?
According to the Center for Nutrition Advocacy, a health coach is professionally trained to provide lifestyle nutrition information and help individuals set and reach their health goals using diet and exercise tools and behavioral psychology principles.
As a wellness guide and supportive partner, they work with clients or groups, privately or online/offline, to help with weight loss, gain energy, better sleep, bust food cravings, and much more.
Clients develop a deep understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for them and implement changes that support sustained physical and mental health.
Why I do what I do...
When I first got pregnant 7 years ago, my husband underwent gallbladder removal surgery due to some polyps that had the possibility of turning into cancer. Luckily after the surgery, he’d had no issues until 2 years ago, when after a series of very stressful events at work, his health took a nosedive. His digestion was horrible, he had abdominal pain, dark circles under his eyes, brain fog, extreme fatigue, and getting sick all the time.
I started to do my own research, cleaned up our diet first, then added the right supplements to fill in some nutritional gaps and within days, he was feeling so much better. And so there it was; the inspiration I had been waiting for! That experience sparked a desire to delve deeper into holistic nutrition, specifically how our digestive system directly affects our hormones, brain health and it's overall profound influence on our wellbeing.
So, I enrolled in The Institute of Transformational Nutrition and became certified as a Health Coach and Digestive Health Specialist - best decision ever!
I now focus on creating online programs for busy women (moms and professionals alike) who need guidance and support in resolving their gut issues, which if left untreated, can lead to major issues like brain fog, vicious cravings, inability to lose weight, low energy and even autoimmunity down the road.
As a new mom, I also struggled with my weight and had digestive issues, as many women do after pregnancy, and felt I needed to have a better relationship with food but was confused about where to start. So trust me when I say that I am here to provide you with all the information and resources I've learned so that you begin living your best life yet!
I am working on some exciting new programs to help you discover the right foods for your body; the kinds of foods that will help you effortlessly and naturally transform your digestive and brain health, because by now you know those two go hand in hand!
